Netflix Cancels Popular Comedy Series “Strip Law” After One Season
Netflix has officially announced the cancellation of the adult animated sitcom “Strip Law” after just one season. The show, which featured the voices of Adam Scott from “Severance,” Janelle James from “Abbott Elementary,” and Stephen Root from “Barry,” premiered in February 2026 to positive reviews.
Despite the initial success, the streaming giant has decided not to continue the series. Creator Cullen Crawford shared the news on Bluesky, stating, “So they told me there’s not going to be any more Strip Law at Netflix.” He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, highlighting the dedication of the team involved. “At every phase, it was made by talented people in pursuit of nothing but pure chaotic delirious joy and I’m so so proud of it. Thank you to everyone who gave it chance.”
A Unique Setting and Storyline
Set in Las Vegas, “Strip Law” follows a lawyer who, after being kicked out of his mother’s law firm following her death, starts his own company and hires a ragtag group of employees. While the series was a modest critical hit, it failed to reach the top 10 on Netflix, which likely contributed to its cancellation.
Other Cancellations on Netflix
This is not the first time Netflix has decided to end a popular series. Last month, the network called time on “The Night Agent,” confirming that season four, currently in production, will be the final season. Gabriel Basso stars as Peter Sutherland, a low-level FBI agent caught in an international conspiracy involving a Russian agent and the highest levels of the US government.
When “The Night Agent” first aired in 2023, based on the Matthew Quirk novel of the same name, it became the most-watched show on Netflix globally in the first half of the year, amassing 812 million hours of viewed time for its 10 episodes. Seasons two and three followed in 2025 and 2026, respectively, and delivered solid ratings despite not matching the figures of the first season. However, it is widely believed that the show’s quality improved over time.
Season four has been designed as the finale, ensuring viewers get a conclusion to the story. Creator Shawn Ryan, known for “The Shield,” is happy with the show’s fate.
Other Shows Removed from Netflix
In addition to “Strip Law” and “The Night Agent,” several other shows have fallen victim to Netflix’s decision to cancel or remove content. These include the Western series “The Abandons,” the sci-fi series “Terminator Zero,” the reality series “Billionaires’ Bunker,” the Japanese series “Alice in Borderland,” and the Spanish series “Class.”
