Davina McCall, a well-known television presenter and broadcaster, has shared the positive news that she has received the “all clear” following her breast cancer diagnosis. At 58 years old, McCall took to her podcast, Making The Cut, which she co-hosts with her husband Michael Douglas, to share this encouraging update.
McCall had previously revealed her diagnosis in October, undergoing surgery to remove a lump. She described the experience as a significant and emotional moment, stating, “I went to go and have a check-up on my boobs the other day. Obviously, quite a serious day, quite heavy.”
During her appointment, McCall recounted an unusual incident involving her payment card, which she had placed in a wallet that resembled a “big wand like a fairy would use.” She explained, “I went to go and pay my bill, and I tapped my wand and literally people would be beside themselves. And I thought ‘this heavy day has become very joyful and funny.’”
She added, “I’ve not only put a smile on other people’s faces, but a smile on mine.” McCall concluded with a cheerful message: “By the way, it was all clear – just letting everyone know. Good news, good news.”
A Journey of Health and Awareness
The former host of Big Brother first disclosed her diagnosis in a video posted on Instagram in November. In that post, she shared how she discovered a lump in her breast that “came and went.” McCall revealed that she found out she had breast cancer in October and underwent a lumpectomy to remove it.
In addition to the surgery, she required five days of radiotherapy in January as a precautionary measure. McCall expressed her determination to continue her journey to prevent the cancer from returning.
She also encouraged others to get checked for breast cancer, emphasizing how fortunate she felt to detect the condition at an early stage. Her message was clear: early detection can make a significant difference in treatment outcomes.
This latest health challenge comes after McCall underwent surgery in 2024 to remove a benign brain tumour known as a colloid cyst. This was discovered during a health check-up as part of her advocacy work for menopause awareness.
