A Luxurious Estate in Paradise Valley, Arizona
A stunning home in Paradise Valley, Arizona, is now on the market for $40 million, making it the most expensive property in the affluent town. This impressive estate features unique amenities that set it apart from other homes in the area.
The Sellers
The property is being sold by Jordan and Jill Darling, who purchased a partially completed spec house along with a neighboring lot in 2020 for approximately $6.7 million. Jordan, the founder of a successful jet-ski company, is now the CEO of Supersede, an Arizona-based building-materials company.
The Darlings were living in nearby Mesa with their young children when they bought the property. They completed the home, moved in, and made several additions to the estate. While Jordan did not disclose the total cost of the renovations, he mentioned that they spent around $2 million on landscaping, replacing the desert landscape with lush greenery.
Why the Darlings Are Selling
Jordan explained that they are listing the property because they are ready for a new project, but they plan to remain in Paradise Valley. This decision reflects their long-term commitment to the community.
Property Specifications
The estate spans roughly 2 acres and includes a five-bedroom main house that covers approximately 19,000 square feet. In addition to the main residence, there is a two-bedroom guesthouse and a studio-style guest casita.
Unique Amenities
The Darlings have filled the estate with indoor amenities that provide comfort during Arizona’s hot summers. One of the standout features is a subterranean level that houses a go-kart track, a gun range, and a spa with a massage room, sauna, and stations for haircuts and pedicures.
The main house also includes a large gym that opens to a cold plunge and a yard featuring a pool. While the pool was part of the original design, the Darlings added a pickleball court, a hot tub, and a cabana with an outdoor kitchen and pizza oven.
A Passion for Racing
Jordan and his son share a passion for car and go-kart racing. To accommodate this interest, the property includes enough garage space to hold 38 cars, as well as a shop for car repairs.
Market Implications
If the property sells at or near its asking price, it will set a new record for home sales in Paradise Valley, which lies between Phoenix and Scottsdale. The current record was held by a property that sold for $33.5 million last year.
Paradise Valley has a strong real estate market, with a median sale price of $5.3 million last month, according to the listing agent, Katrina Barrett.
