A New Chapter in Jennifer Meyer’s Life
Jennifer Meyer, a renowned jewelry designer, is set to welcome her third child this weekend. At 49 years old, she is expecting her first baby with her fiancé, Geoff Ogunlesi, who is 34 years old. This new chapter in her life has been described by Meyer as a “fairytale.” She already has two children, Ruby, 19, and Otis, 17, from her previous marriage to Tobey Maguire, 50.
Meyer shared her feelings about this exciting time in her life, telling People magazine, “I really don’t mean to sound lame or anything, but I’m feeling like I’m just having a fairytale experience in my [whole] life right now.” She added, “It’s like all my wishes are coming true. And so I feel really grateful and lucky and just excited for all these new chapters.”
She compared the experience to being a kid on Christmas morning: “I kind of feel like a little kid – I know my parents bought me my dream gift, so I’m just waiting.”
Meyer and Maguire were married in 2007 and separated in 2016. The divorce was finalized in 2020. She announced her pregnancy in December 2025 through a social media post.
The expectant mother spoke about the challenges of being pregnant at an older age, saying it’s “a whole new world.” She explained, “I was so much younger when I did it with my first two kids, and I was the first of my friends [to get pregnant] pretty much.”
Meyer noted that this time around, she has more knowledge and expectations. “So it was a different mentality. And now I know everything and what to expect,” she said. While she admitted that being pregnant at 49 is “more exhausting,” she also mentioned that she’s had “an awesome pregnancy.”
She expressed excitement about sharing the news with her future husband, saying, “To get to be able to do it again at this point in my life with this person that I love so much. It was really cool.”
Meyer added, “And also, you’re cautious. I’m not 25, so it’s like, ‘Oh my God, I’m pregnant.’ It’s so exciting. And he always has this very incredible attitude in life. He’s always very positive, always just looks at everything working out no matter what. So I try to adapt to that a little bit more, which I am, but it was a sweet moment.”
Meyer also talked about her blended family with her ex-husband, whom she described as “incredible.” She shared, “When Tobey and I broke up, it was very clear immediately that Ruby and Otis came first, and we really cared about each other as people, and we wanted to be in each other’s lives no matter what.”
She emphasized their commitment to maintaining a strong relationship, saying, “We didn’t want to miss a Christmas. We didn’t want to miss a Thanksgiving.”
Meyer continued, “We travel all together. We have every holiday together. We have every birthday all together. He is an incredible father. He is an incredible ex-husband. And Geoff loves him and he loves Geoff. And so everything just works.”
She and Ogunlesi became engaged in 2024 after making their red carpet debut in November 2023. Ogunlesi comes from a prominent Nigerian family; his father, Adebayo Ogunlesi, is a lawyer and investment banker with an estimated net worth of $2.3 billion. He graduated from Amherst College and is the CEO and founder of the Ogunlesi Group, a music management company.
Meanwhile, Meyer is the daughter of Ron Meyer, the cofounder of CAA and former executive at NBC, COO/President of Universal.
