Subaru has taken a bold step in the Australian electric vehicle (EV) market with the release of pricing for its new Uncharted small SUV. Starting at $59,990, the Uncharted is positioned as a more affordable option compared to its mid-size sibling, the Solterra, which starts at $61,990. This strategic move places the Uncharted directly in the competitive segment alongside models like the Hyundai Kona Electric and Kia EV3.
The Uncharted represents a significant shift for Subaru, marking its third electric vehicle in the global lineup. It is set to be revealed later this month and will challenge established players such as the 2026 BYD Atto 3, Kia EV3, MG S5, and Tesla Model Y. The car is designed to offer a compelling alternative to these models, combining performance, practicality, and innovation.
Key Features of the 2026 Subaru Uncharted
One of the standout features of the Uncharted is its all-wheel drive system, which sets it apart from the front-wheel drive configurations of the Kona and EV3. With 211mm of ground clearance, the Uncharted is built for all-terrain capabilities, making it ideal for both urban and off-road environments.
Under the hood, the Uncharted is powered by a dual electric motor setup that delivers 252kW of power, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just five seconds. The vehicle is equipped with a 75kWh battery, providing a driving range of 522km according to WLTP standards. This impressive range makes the Uncharted a strong contender in the EV market.
Charging is also convenient, with the ability to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes using DC fast charging. Additionally, the Uncharted supports vehicle-to-load functionality, enabling users to power external appliances through the car’s battery.

Inside the Uncharted, drivers are greeted with a 14.0-inch central touchscreen and a 7.0-inch digital driver display. The cabin also includes dual wireless phone chargers, ensuring convenience for modern lifestyles. Other standard features include:
