Ray J’s mysterious health update after hospitalization following brutal MMA loss

Ray J has kept his recent health update somewhat mysterious, but he has given fans a glimpse into his recovery after being hospitalized. The R&B singer shared a brief update on his Instagram Story on Wednesday, May 27, stating that he is “getting better” following an incident at the UFC Apex event in Las Vegas.

The event took place over the weekend, where Ray J was knocked out by YouTuber Supa Hot Fire. In his post, Ray J mentioned that he would be appearing at the Pete Be Center in San Jose, California, on Friday, hinting at a later-rescheduled performance.

The original date for the show was set for May 29, but the venue’s owner, Pete Be, revealed that it had been postponed to June. This decision was made to give Ray J more time to recover.

“I just got off the phone with Ray J,” Pete Be said in a video shared on Ray J’s Instagram Story. “Incredible conversation. Ray is ready to rock. Now, out of respect for the fans and the experience, Ray and I want to make sure he brings the energy that everybody deserves.”

Ray J also made light of his situation, joking about the knockout. “Waiting for my knot to go down,” he said, referencing the injury. “Do KNOT miss my comeback on 6/27.”

Ray J’s health update comes after news broke that he had been hospitalized for two days. According to TMZ, the 45-year-old checked himself into a Las Vegas hospital two hours after the fight. Doctors were reportedly investigating whether he suffered a concussion, as his heart rate was slower than normal.

The hospital visit followed Ray J’s complaints after the match, where he seemed disappointed with how the fight went. “D— bro … like that? For real … that’s janky as f—,” he said. “I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to get nobody in trouble, but d— … we took an L tonight. You know how much money we lost? Wow … wow.”

Fans were concerned about Ray J participating in the MMA event in the first place, especially considering his previous comments about his health. Earlier this year, the “I Hit It First” rapper claimed he didn’t have much time left due to his deteriorating health.

“2027 is definitely a wrap for me,” he said during an Instagram Live in January, alleging that his heart had gone “black” from years of drug and alcohol abuse.

“I want to thank everybody for praying for me. I was in a hospital. My heart’s only beating like 25 percent, but as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, everything will be all right,” he admitted at the time. “My health is not OK, so I thank everybody for supporting and praying for me.”

Ray J’s recent hospitalization and the events at the UFC Apex have sparked a lot of discussion among fans and media alike. His cryptic updates and humorous remarks have shown that while he may be recovering, he is still engaging with his audience in his own unique way.

As the date for his rescheduled performance approaches, fans are eagerly waiting to see how Ray J will bounce back from this challenging period. Whether it’s through music, social media, or future events, it seems clear that Ray J is determined to keep moving forward.
