Jessica Simpson is taking a new step in her personal life. According to reports, the singer, who is 45 years old, is currently dating musician Thomas Eisenhood. This follows her separation from her ex-husband, Eric Johnson, over a year ago.
A close associate shared with a publication that Simpson is “happy,” “in a great place,” and “excited for her future.” It is said that she has been seeing Eisenhood, a resident of Nashville, for about three months. During her stays at her second home in Tennessee, she spends time with him. The couple met through mutual friends in the music industry, according to insiders. However, Eisenhood has not yet been introduced to Simpson’s children.
The fashion designer is the mother of three children: Maxwell Drew, 13, Birdie Mae, 7, and Ace Knute, 12. She shares them with Johnson, who is 46.
Her latest relationship comes after she expressed openness to finding a partner during an episode of TODAY With Jenna & Friends in July 2025.
“I am single. I’m ready!” she emphasized at the time. “My type of person is one of a kind. I don’t have a look. I just like for somebody to be individually who they are and exude confidence without the ego…it’s hard to find, but I feel like it’s out there. I don’t need somebody to be supportive of me all the time…I feel like the independence that I have right now, if I can have that and give to someone else, that’d be cool.”
Simpson and Johnson announced their separation in January 2025 after being married for 10 years. A source confirmed to a publication that “She and Eric are committed to being the best possible parents they could be, having a harmonious relationship and supporting their kids.”
The former couple still lives in their $17 million home in Hidden Hills, California, and have been working on figuring out the best path forward. “He’s been living there, but they’re working on selling the house,” a source told the same outlet. “The goal has been to keep everything as stable and as friendly for the kids as possible.”
They still maintain a great relationship and have a healthy co-parenting dynamic. “The main goal is the kids, but they’re moving toward next steps,” the insider said.
Although Simpson’s children are a priority, she is also focused on her music and career. “She’s focused on her music right now, her career, getting back to work, and that’s it,” a source added.
In January 2025, the actress revealed she had separated from the ex-NFL player while “navigating a painful situation in [their] marriage.”
“Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them,” she said at the time. “We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”
