Indie has also been involved in a romantic storyline with nurse Cam Mickelthwaite, played by Bradley Walsh’s son Barney Walsh.
Casualty, a long-running medical drama that started in 1986, continues to be a Saturday night favorite. Currently, the show is airing a miniseries called Learning Curve, with two episodes left to air.
Earlier this year, fans of The Traitors noticed a familiar face appearing in a Casualty episode. Maddy Smedley, who was part of the first series of the BBC murder mystery show, appeared in the first episode of 2026. She portrayed a patient who suffered severe burns after falling asleep in the sun.
Maddy announced her role on X, stating: ‘Meet Bethany Chimes tonight on Casualty at 8:45pm BBC 1 or on iplayer now – she’s addicted to a sun tan cos she’s lonely. Sad story really and hope it raises awareness of melanoma and how bad the sun can really be. @bbccasualtyofficial #casualty love working again at casualty x.’
Many viewers recognized Maddy in the episode and took to social media to express their surprise. One user wrote: ‘Maddy from #TheTraitors on #Casualty!’, while another added: ‘Good to see Maddy in #casualty from series 1 #TraitorsUK #traitors @the_traitors_’.
A third comment read: ‘As if I’m watching it now and I said to my friend ‘IS THAT MADDY OFF THE TRAITORS’ how fun to see you girlie.’
Maddy gained popularity in series one of The Traitors as one of the few Faithfuls who correctly suspected Wilf Webster of being a Traitor. Unfortunately, she was eliminated before her theory could be proven.
Since then, Maddy has continued to make an impact on television, playing roles such as Faye Fuller in Hollyoaks, Sally in Big Boys, and Dilys Shaughnessy in two episodes of Call the Midwife.
