Beyoncé Fans Speculate About New Rock Album at Met Gala
Beyoncé fans have been buzzing with excitement, believing the singer may announce her new rock album during a tribute to Prince at next week’s Met Gala. The event, which she is co-chairing, has sparked widespread speculation about her upcoming project.
The 44-year-old artist has long been rumored to be working on an album inspired by rock music, which would be the third part of her trilogy following Renaissance (dance) and Cowboy Carter (country). On Monday, Beyoncé took to Instagram with a series of mysterious posts that fans interpreted as hints about her next move. She was seen in a dramatic purple gown, which many believed was a nod to Prince’s iconic Purple Rain era.
In addition to the outfit, there were close-ups of her heels and a bowl of eight pieces of sushi, further fueling fans’ theories. Comments flooded in with phrases like: “Hold up! Act III coming,” “Met Gala tease,” “Purple Rain!”, “The rain on the steps. It’s giving Prince Purple Rain,” “Purple is the colour of rock royalty and she knows it!” and “I can’t believe we already here, I’m so ready for Rockyonce my god.”
The 2026 Met Gala: A Celebration of Fashion and Art
The 2026 Met Gala will take place on Monday, May 4, and will celebrate the Costume Institute exhibition titled Costume Art. The dress code for the event is “Fashion is Art.” This year’s gala is being co-chaired by Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour. The event will highlight the concept of the “dressed body” and will debut 25 new diverse mannequins.
Tickets for the event are priced at $100,000 per individual, with tables starting at $350,000. The high cost reflects the exclusivity and prestige of the event, which continues to be one of the most anticipated fashion gatherings of the year.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z Eye a Lavish Move to France
This latest speculation about Beyoncé’s potential album comes alongside reports that the singer and her husband, Jay Z, are considering a major relocation to France. The power couple, who are reportedly worth $2.8 billion, had initially explored moving to the Cotswolds in the UK but faced setbacks due to concerns over flooding on their £7.5 million plot.
Now, they are set on acquiring a 16th-century chateau in the French wine region of Bordeaux. The property features 10 bedrooms and eight bathrooms, offering ample space for the couple, their 14-year-old daughter Blue Ivy, and their eight-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir Carter.
The couple has shown a growing interest in the region, having chosen it as the location for Jay-Z’s 54th birthday celebration in December 2023.

Secrecy Surrounds Potential Relocation
According to a source, the couple’s potential move to Bordeaux has sparked a lot of conversation among locals. “Everyone is talking about Beyoncé and Jay-Z moving to the area,” the source said. “It’s all been shrouded in secrecy, with local businesses and tradespeople forced to sign non-disclosure agreements, but theirs are the names on everyone’s lips.”
The source also revealed that a job posting was placed on a local notice board seeking an experienced property manager to work with VIP clients, emphasizing the need for “absolute discretion.”
Daily Mail has reached out to Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s representatives for further comment.
Previous Plans for a UK Move
Earlier this year, it was reported that the couple was considering a move to the UK after Los Angeles was hit by devastating wildfires last year. Their previous plan involved purchasing a 58-acre plot in the Cotswolds, which had planning permission for a seven-bedroom “spectacular rural estate.” However, the plans were abandoned due to the risk of flooding on the land.
