Liverpool Kingpin Slain in Holland, Nine Years After Fatal Shooting

Notorious Liverpool Gangster Fatally Stabbed in Dutch Confrontation

A figure with a history of alleged serious criminal activity in Liverpool has met a violent end in the Netherlands, nine years after he was reportedly linked to a brutal double homicide. Paul Parker, 52, was killed last week in Heerhugowaard, a city in the Dutch province of North Holland, following an incident that police describe as a “knife and gun battle” inside a business premises.

Authorities believe Parker may have broken into the establishment, which subsequently escalated into a violent confrontation involving both firearms and bladed weapons. Emergency services, including armed police units and a helicopter, were dispatched to the scene on June 1. Following the incident, two men, aged 44 and 65, were apprehended by police while receiving treatment in hospital.

Reports emerging from Dutch media have identified Parker as the suspect wanted in connection with the murders of Pieter Hoovers, a 54-year-old Dutchman, and his 32-year-old Thai wife, Tae Kawepanya. The couple tragically lost their lives during a shooting incident at an apartment in Amsterdam’s De Pijp district on July 17, 2017.

Last year, Amsterdam police released CCTV footage of a “British criminal” they suspected of involvement in the double murder, offering a reward of €20,000 (approximately £17,300) for any information leading to his capture. Dutch media outlets have since reported that this suspect was indeed Paul Parker.

Intriguingly, a photograph that has come to light, reportedly seen by The Daily Mail, depicts Parker on a boat alongside Pieter Hoovers some years prior to the murders, suggesting a possible past acquaintance or even friendship between the two. Mr. Hoovers, who had a background in martial arts, was known for establishing the record label Outland Records. He later sold the business and relocated to Thailand in the mid-1990s. He was in the Netherlands visiting with his partner when the couple were tragically killed.

A man who claims to have been a friend of Mr. Hoovers has publicly expressed his feelings regarding Parker’s demise. He posted a message on social media, explicitly implicating Parker in the double murder. The post read: “Rot in hell scumbag. On Monday the guy who brutally killed my friends Pieter and Tae Hoovers in July 2017 and has been on the run for justice for years got what he deserved. He was shot at close range.”

Evidence suggests that Paul Parker had been living outside the UK for a significant period, with reports indicating he left the country approximately 25 years ago.

Parker’s past criminal associations are not new. In 1993, both Paul and his brother, David Parker, were incarcerated for their roles in the fatal stabbing of a teenager during a drug deal that went disastrously wrong. The victim, 17-year-old Phillip Green from Warrington, was fatally stabbed in the heart after attending Walton Hall Park in Liverpool with £1,000 with the intention of purchasing drugs. Police were later alerted and attended Phillip’s home in Warrington, where his distraught parents were taken to Walton Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, Phillip could not be saved.

Court proceedings at Liverpool Crown Court revealed that Phillip was stabbed in the heart by an unidentified third individual. Paul and David Parker were subsequently convicted and sentenced to five years imprisonment for their involvement in the incident.

The enduring pain of Phillip’s death was poignantly shared by his mother, Pat, in an interview with the Liverpool Echo in 2014. She stated: “The memories have never faded. I remember every detail of that day as if it was yesterday, it’s like a film being played. But I wouldn’t ever want to forget it. It was the last day I saw Phillip alive.” The circumstances surrounding Parker’s final moments in the Netherlands echo a history of violence and alleged criminal enterprise that has now culminated in his own death.
