Countdown on until second royal wedding in as many weeks

Just days after the royals gathered for the wedding of Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling, another royal is set to wed.

Lady Marina Windsor, a second cousin once removed to King Charles through their shared great-great-grandfather, King George V, will marry Nico Macauley on June 20.

The couple announced their engagement a year ago on Instagram with a series of photos showing off her sapphire and diamond engagement ring.

Lady Marina has always enjoyed a close relationship with the royals through her grandparents, the Duke and Duchess of Kent.

The Duke of Kent remains the oldest working member of the royal family at 90.

His wife, Katharine, the Duchess of Kent, stepped back from royal duties in 2002 − 23 years before her death in September 2025. She was 92.

The Duke of Kent is the first cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth II through their fathers. They also share common grandparents, King George V and Queen Mary.

All senior members of the royal family attended her funeral service, which was the last public appearance of the former Duke and Duchess of York before they announced they were giving up their titles the following month ahead of news Andrew would be stripped of his ‘prince’ title.

Lady Marina’s father, George Windsor, the Earl of St Andrews, is the couple’s eldest son and will become Duke of Kent on his father’s death.

Lady Marina once held a distant spot in the line of succession but gave it up in 2008 after converting to the Catholic Church, just as the Duchess of Kent had done in 1994.

Her brother Lord Downpatrick also converted, but her younger sister Lady Amelia Windsor remains in the line of succession in 44th place.

Senior members of the royal family are expected to attend Lady Marina’s nuptials.

She was among the guests at the 2011 wedding of Prince William and Catherine, now the Princess of Wales. However, she and her sister were reportedly surprised not to score an invite to Prince Harry’s 2018 wedding to wife Meghan.

Lady Marina is as a philanthropic executive with non-profit, The Big Give, while her soon-to-be-husband is an account executive working in cloud security.

He also has his own royal and celebrity connections.

He is the great-grandson of William Berry, 1st Viscount Camrose, and the cousin of actor Joshua Sasse, who was once engaged to Kylie Minogue.

Their big day will come just two weeks after the wedding of Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling.

Phillips, who is 19th in line to the throne, married for the second time on June 6 in a private ceremony at All Saints Church in Cirencester, which was attended by many senior members of the royal family.

Guests at the wedding, which went off without a hitch despite the rain, included King Charles and Queen Camilla and the Prince and Princess of Wales.

The groom’s mother, Princess Anne, the Princess Royal, was seen smiling as she left the church after the ceremony alongside her husband Sir Timothy Laurence.

Meanwhile the groom’s sister Zara Tindall wore a lavender dress by Aussie designer Rebecca Valance.

Phillips, 48, was previously married to Canadian Autumn Kelly, from 2008 to 2021. They share two children, Savannah, 15, and Isla, 14, who were on bridesmaid duty beside their new stepsister, Georgina, 13.

Sperling, a paediatric nurse, who is now known as Harriet Phillips, shares Georgina with her former husband, fitness instructor Antonio St John Sperling.
