It’s been ten years since Taylor Swift’s feud with Kim Kardashian made headlines around the world, but it seems like a decade is enough time for the pop star to have moved on.
While we’re not sure about her relationship with Kim, it seems that Swift is holding no grudges against the rest of the Kardashian clan after a new clip of her hugging Kylie Jenner has gone viral on social media.
Both Swift and Jenner were sat courtside at game four of the NBA playoffs, cheering on the New York Knicks against the San Antonio Spurs.
Following a 29-point comeback, the Knicks took home the win by a single point, and the crowd inside Madison Square Garden erupted into cheers.
Following the game videos of celebrities mingling and celebrating with players began to circulate online, but perhaps none have gone quite as viral as the one showing a shocking interaction between Swift and Jenner.
In the clip, the pair make eye contact as they walk past one another. Swift then waves and reaches out for a hug as Jenner appears to excitedly say hi, noting how “crazy” the game was.
The pair hugged, and screenshots of the moment have gone viral on the internet as Swifties wonder if the feud with the Kardashians is finally over.
Fans rejoiced in the comment section of the clip, with one writing: “This might be more shocking than the knicks win”.
Another said: “This is the modern day Treaty of Versailles!!!”
For those unaware, the infamous battle between Swift and Kardashian dates back to 2016 when Kanye West – Kardashian’s husband at the time – included a lyric about Swift in his song Famous.
Swift publicly condemned the song, but West claimed she had approved the lyric, and in an attempt to defend her husband, Kardashian leaked a secretly recorded phone call between West and Swift, which was later revealed to be edited.
The interaction prompted fans online to turn against Swift with the viral hashtag, #taylorswiftisoverparty.
Swift essentially went into hiding for a year, and in 2017 released her album Reputation, heavily influenced by the events that unfolded between herself, West and Kardashian.
In 2024, the pop star reminded us all that the feud is alive and well with the track thanK you aIMee (notice that the capitalisation spells KIM) on the album The Tortured Poets Department.
But instead of pure vitriol, this song seemed to be almost thanking Kardashian for inspiring Swift to create Reputation, an album that went on to break multiple records and has become widely regarded as some of her best work.
So, with a mega-wedding in the pipeline, a new net worth of over $2 billion, a level of fame that very few if any have ever reached, and a sweet interaction with a member of the Kardashian clan, it’s fair to assume that Swift probably has enough going on that she’s decided to put this one behind her.
