New Principal at Henry F. Moss Middle School Brings 24 Years of Experience



Henry F. Moss Middle School in Bowling Green, Kentucky, has announced the appointment of Daryl Woods as its new principal. With a wealth of experience spanning 24 years in education, Woods is set to bring a strong commitment to student success and academic excellence to the school.

Woods previously served as the principal of the Warren County Area Technology Center, where he played a key role in shaping the educational experiences of students in the region. Before that, he spent 13 years at Drakes Creek Middle School, where his leadership contributed to the school’s recognition with a National Blue Ribbon Award. This prestigious award is given to schools that have achieved high levels of performance or made significant improvements in closing the achievement gap.

He will officially take over the role at Henry F. Moss Middle School on July 1. In his initial remarks, Woods emphasized a vision centered around excellence. “Excellence to me is making sure that a student leaves better than they came,” he stated. “Our goal is for students to leave reading and doing math at grade level. And so I think that’s what excellence looks like, but also excellence entails having a good community.”



Superintendent Rob Clayton and Assistant Superintendent Sarah Johnson have both expressed their confidence in Woods’ leadership. They highlighted his student-centered approach, noting that he fosters a safe and supportive environment while expanding access to high-quality learning opportunities. Their support underscores the belief that Woods will help every student reach their full potential.

Woods is a graduate of Western Kentucky University, where he earned degrees in accounting, math education, and educational leadership. His diverse academic background reflects his dedication to both the financial and educational aspects of school management.
