Lenovo is launching the 15-inch version of its Legion 5i Gen 11 (15IAX11) gaming laptop in the US. This model, which was previously released in China as the Legion Y7000X and later made available in Europe and Asia, is now accessible to buyers in North America.

Lenovo Legion 5i Gen 11 Specifications

The device features a 15.3-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 and a 16:10 aspect ratio. It has a high refresh rate of 165Hz and a sub-1ms response time, making it ideal for fast-paced gaming. The display offers 500 nits of brightness for standard use but is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certified, allowing it to reach up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness when displaying HDR content. Additionally, it covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space and supports Nvidia G-Sync technology.

Inside, the laptop is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 251HX processor, which boasts 18 cores and 18 threads. For graphics, it uses an Nvidia RTX 5060 laptop GPU with 8GB of GDDR7 memory, operating at a maximum power limit of 115W. The base model in the US comes with 16GB of DDR5-5600 memory and a 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD. The RAM is installed via two internal SODIMM slots, making it easy for users to upgrade in the future.

Design and Cooling System

The chassis of the Legion 5i Gen 11 is relatively compact for a gaming laptop, measuring just under 0.8 inches in thickness and weighing 4.25 pounds. To manage heat effectively, Lenovo has implemented its Coldfront: Hyper thermal system, which includes dual fans and copper heat pipes to channel air through a dedicated internal chamber. The laptop is powered by an 80Wh battery, providing decent mobility for on-the-go use.

Connectivity and Features

On the connectivity front, the left side of the laptop includes a Thunderbolt 4 port and a standard 10Gbps USB-C port. Both ports support up to 100W power delivery and DisplayPort 2.1. On the right and rear edges, there are three USB-A ports, an HDMI 2.1 output, and an Ethernet jack. The device also supports Wi-Fi 7 and includes a 5MP webcam with a physical privacy shutter switch for added security.

Pricing and Availability

The Legion 5i Gen 11 is currently available in Eclipse Black for $2,959.99 in the US market. This price point positions it as a premium option for gamers seeking high-performance hardware in a portable form factor.
