All-Star Cast Takes On The Traitors for Comic Relief Special
Get ready for a hilarious twist on one of the BBC’s most talked-about shows! This year’s Red Nose Day will feature a special spoof of The Traitors, aptly titled The Traitors: The Movie – The Sequel. The star-studded sketch promises to bring all the drama, intrigue, and iconic moments from the latest series, but with a healthy dose of comedic flair.
The BBC has unveiled the first look at the impressive line-up, and the resemblance to the actual contestants from the 2026 series is, quite frankly, uncanny.
Who’s Who in the Spoof?
Leading the charge is Anna Friel, who steps into the formidable shoes of host Claudia Winkleman. She’ll be channeling Winkleman’s signature style, complete with plenty of warm layers – think roll necks, coats, boots, and fingerless gloves, as Friel herself described her costume.
Vicky Pattison and Iain Stirling are set to embody the winning Traitors, Rachel Duffy and Stephen Libby, respectively. Their performances are expected to capture the essence of the original players who navigated the tense game to victory.
Fans of Gavin And Stacey will be delighted to see Alison Steadman portraying Fiona Hughes. Steadman will bring her comedic talent to the role of the short-lived Traitor who, in the original series, donned the infamous red cloak only to be banished early on.
The Faithfuls Assemble
The ranks of the Faithfuls are equally well-represented:
- Fleur East will take on the role of the ever-optimistic Roxy Wilson.
- Strictly Come Dancing and Emmerdale star Lewis Cope looks unrecognisable as the enigmatic Jack Butler.
- Radio presenter Scott Mills will step into the shoes of gardener James Baker.
- Amanda Redman MBE is set to portray former police detective Amanda Collier.
- Jessica Hynes, known for her role in Patience, will tackle the formidable crime writer and barrister Harriet Tyce.
A Blend of Stars and Original Cast
Adding another layer of authenticity to the sketch, several members of the real The Traitors series four cast will also be joining in. Among them are Rachel, Stephen, Faraaz Noor, Fiona, Ross Garshong, Jade Scott, and Judy Wilson. Guiding this ensemble of talent will be the acclaimed director Ruby Wax.
Behind the Scenes and On-Set Vibes
Anna Friel, 49, shared her excitement about the project, particularly her role as Claudia Winkleman. “We’re doing a sketch for Comic Relief, and I am playing Claudia Winkleman,” she said. “Lots and lots of warm clothes for me today, I’ve had roll necks and coats and boots and fingerless gloves.”
Friel also spoke fondly of reuniting with Alison Steadman: “Seeing Alison Steadman [OBE] again was absolutely lovely, she played my mother in a drama we did together.” She added high praise for Jessica Hynes, calling her “so funny and brilliant.” Friel noted the positive atmosphere on set, saying, “I watched The Traitors so seeing the series four cast was really gorgeous and they were all wonderful and warm – it’s been a really light and happy set.”
She concluded by emphasizing the importance of the cause: “Comic Relief is a really worthy cause and beautiful campaign – Go get your Red Nose.”
Reactions from the Original Traitors
Rachel, one of the series four winners, expressed her surreal delight at seeing Vicky Pattison play her. “I have a clone in Vicky Pattison which is really surreal,” she commented. “She does a killer Irish accent. When I heard we were doing a sketch of The Traitors I absolutely loved it and I couldn’t wait to find out who was going to play me.”
Vicky Pattison, while a long-time supporter of Comic Relief, admitted to some apprehension about her acting debut. “I have been a supporter and champion of Comic Relief for years, however this does feel a little bit outside of my usual wheelhouse – I am not an actor, I am not Northern Irish, I think I’d rather be back in the Arctic or trekking or something so I am very scared,” she confessed.
The sketch is set to revisit some of the most memorable and talked-about moments from the captivating fourth series of The Traitors, promising a night of laughter and entertainment for a fantastic cause.
