The Huawei Smart Lock M2 incorporates AI-driven features, particularly in its fingerprint unlocking system. According to the company, the lock uses an adaptive AI fingerprint sensor that becomes more accurate over time with each use.
It can unlock in about 0.5 seconds, and Huawei claims an extremely low false recognition rate of less than 0.00001. This level of precision ensures a secure and efficient user experience.
In addition to fingerprint access, the M2 supports multiple unlocking methods. Users can choose from NFC cards, physical keys, digital passwords, temporary visitor codes, and even Huawei smartphones and smartwatches. This versatility makes the lock suitable for a wide range of users and scenarios.

From a design perspective, the device features a slim profile with a 0.5 mm “golden depth” and rounded edges. Both the inner and outer panels have identical dimensions, measuring 365 x 76.5 x 23 mm, and the entire unit weighs around 4.2 kg.
The lock is powered by four AA batteries, which Huawei claims can last up to 18 months. In case of battery depletion, there is a Type-C port for emergency power. Additionally, the lock includes tiered battery reminders to prevent unexpected shutdowns.
Security Features
The M2 includes an EAL5+ certified security chip for handling sensitive data locally, ensuring that user information remains protected. It also features an additional chip that independently verifies access permissions. Furthermore, the lock uses a Class C direct-insertion lock cylinder, allowing the mechanical lock to function even if the outer panel is damaged.
Warranty and Availability
Huawei offers a four-year warranty with the device, reflecting confidence in its durability and performance. However, at this time, there has been no official announcement regarding availability in international markets.
