Vaibhav Sooryavanshi vows to lead Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2027

A Season to Remember for Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals’ 2026 IPL season was one that will be remembered for years to come. For young talent Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, it was a journey filled with highs, lows, and unforgettable moments. Reflecting on the season, Sooryavanshi expressed his gratitude to teammates and supporters who stood by the squad throughout the tournament.

The Royals had a strong start, building momentum that saw them reach Qualifier 2. Despite falling short against Gujarat Titans, their performances left a lasting impression on fans and critics alike. The team’s resilience and determination were evident throughout the competition.

Rajasthan Royals’ Path to the Playoffs

The journey to the playoffs wasn’t without its challenges. Rajasthan Royals finished the league phase in fourth place, securing eight wins out of 14 matches. Their path was anything but smooth.

They began the tournament with a strong showing, winning their first four games. However, things took a turn as they struggled in the next eight matches, losing six of them. This put them in a must-win situation heading into the final day of the league phase.

Despite the setbacks, RR managed to secure a spot in the playoffs. They then defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator but fell to Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2, marking the end of their campaign.

Sooryavanshi’s Record-Breaking Season

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was undoubtedly one of the standout performers of the 2026 season. The teenage batter delivered a stellar performance, scoring 776 runs at an average of 48.50 and an impressive strike rate of 237.

His achievements included five half-centuries and one century, along with a record-breaking 72 sixes, the highest in the tournament. One of the most talked-about innings was his 97 runs off just 29 balls in the Eliminator against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Although he fell short of a hundred, his impact was undeniable.

Sooryavanshi’s exceptional performances earned him five major awards at the IPL 2026 Awards Ceremony, including the Orange Cap, Super Sixes Award, Super Striker Award, MVP Award, and Emerging Player Award.

A Family-like Bond

In a video released by Rajasthan Royals on social media, players shared their thoughts on what the season meant to them. Sooryavanshi spoke about the bond he formed with his teammates.

“I will miss everyone here. Everyone was like my family, so I especially will miss them all,” he said. His words highlighted the strong connection he developed with his teammates during the tournament.

Message to Rajasthan Royals Fans

Sooryavanshi also addressed the fans, expressing his commitment to improving for the future. He stated that the franchise would work harder to achieve what they couldn’t this year.

“The only message I have is that what didn’t happen this year, we will hopefully complete it next year and win our second IPL trophy,” he added.

Rajasthan Royals won their first IPL title back in 2008, but since then, they’ve been waiting for another victory. With a strong group of young players and Sooryavanshi leading the way, the team is hopeful that this long wait will finally come to an end in the seasons ahead.
