Tom Holland appears to be ready to take Peter Parker into uncharted territory, after years of high-stakes superhero action and youthful optimism. With the upcoming release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Holland has hinted that collaborating with the Punisher could open the door to a future where Marvel’s beloved friendly neighborhood hero might explore a much darker narrative.
The Punisher Could Change Spider-Man’s World
The concept has already generated a lot of buzz from fans who have been wondering what would happen if Spider-Man entered the darker world of the MCU. It’s an intriguing idea, particularly following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, at the conclusion of which Peter Parker’s life was turned upside down.

Actually, the actors have a long history together, as they helped one another prepare for their Marvel auditions years before they became MCU stars. Now, they’re finally bringing that friendship to the screen as two of Marvel’s most popular heroes.
Tom Holland Is Already Looking Beyond ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’
The prospect of Spider-Man being seen in more mature MCU projects is thrilling. However, there are significant hurdles to overcome behind the scenes. The biggest issue is that Sony owns the television rights to Spider-Man. While Marvel Studios and Sony are able to work together on Spider-Man movies, it’s not the same story with Disney+.
That restriction is why Spider-Man has never been included in the MCU series without being mentioned at least indirectly. But don’t despair. If the film is a success and audiences embrace Spider-Man’s team-up with the Punisher, Marvel and Sony may have new ideas for the role of Peter.
There’s definitely a need for more street-level adventures, whether it’s a special presentation, a crossover event, or future movies. At this time, Spider-Man’s future after the Multiverse Saga is unknown. However, Holland’s excitement implies one thing: Peter Parker’s future might not be as sunny and innocent as his past.
