Enhancements to the Zeekr 7X in Australia
The Zeekr 7X has recently received a significant boost in Australia through an over-the-air (OTA) update. This update brings improved software and enhanced functionality to the electric mid-size SUV, making it even more appealing to drivers.
One of the key features added is remote smart parking assist. This allows the vehicle to be moved forwards or backwards using a smartphone, similar to the ‘Summon’ feature found on Tesla cars. However, this feature is currently only available for Apple smartphone users.
In addition to the remote parking assist, iPhone users can now take advantage of digital key functionality. This means that the car can be accessed using an iPhone, eliminating the need for a physical key or fob. This convenience adds another layer of ease to the ownership experience.
The update also includes substantial improvements to the Apple CarPlay system. It now runs more smoothly and offers better navigation, phone connectivity, and entertainment functions. These enhancements make the driving experience more enjoyable and efficient.
Zeekr has also made adjustments to the in-car volume levels for indicator and other notification and alert sounds. This ensures that drivers are kept informed without being overwhelmed by noise.

The OTA update will be automatically applied to all 7X vehicles, ensuring that every owner benefits from the latest improvements. According to Frank Li, Managing Director of Zeekr Australia, these new features make the 7X even smarter, easier to live with, and more enjoyable to drive.
The base model of the 7X starts at $57,900 (before on-road costs), with the range-topping special edition Black variant priced up to $75,900. Since its launch towards the end of last year, the 7X has seen a surge in sales and is expected to surpass the 3,000-sale mark for 2026 soon.
While the 7X is one of the best-selling EVs in Australia, it still trails behind the Tesla Model Y and the BYD Sealion 7 in terms of sales. The Model Y does not offer Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, relying instead on its own software for communication and navigation.
The 7X has proven to be Zeekr’s most successful model in Australia to date. However, the Geely sub-brand has ambitious plans for the future. By the end of 2027, Zeekr aims to introduce several new models, including the highly anticipated 7GT wagon as well as the 8X and 9X luxury large SUVs.
