Charli xcx Announces New Album “Music, Fashion, Film”
Charli xcx has officially announced the release of her upcoming album titled Music, Fashion, Film, set to drop on 24 July. The singer shared the news through her social media platforms, unveiling the album cover that features a black and white photo of three iconic figures from music, fashion, and film—musician John Cale, fashion designer Marc Jacobs, and film director Martin Scorsese.
The album will consist of 11 tracks and will run for a total of 30 minutes and 5 seconds. Fans can now pre-order the album, which marks a significant moment in Charli’s career. The announcement was met with excitement from her followers, who are eager to hear what the new record has to offer.
In addition to the official announcement, Charli took to her private Instagram account @b.sides to give fans a sneak peek at another song from the album. The track includes lyrics such as: “No, you don’t get me, no you don’t get, you don’t get me, no you don’t / Here’s the truth gonna be honest / I’m not a bad girl anymore I promise.” This preview has generated even more anticipation for the full release.
A Follow-Up to Previous Success
This latest album follows the release of two singles from Music, Fashion, Film: ‘Rock Music’ and ‘SS26’. Fans have noticed that the album title is subtly referenced in the lyrics of ‘SS26’, with lines like, “We’re walkin’ on a runway that goes straight to hell / Nothing’s gonna save us, not music, fashion or film.” This connection adds an extra layer of meaning to the project.
The announcement comes after the massive success of Charli’s 2024 album brat, which marked her mainstream breakthrough. The album became a cultural phenomenon and earned her three Grammy Awards last year. Following this success, Charli expanded her creative horizons by contributing to the soundtrack of Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights and working on other projects such as the music for the A24 film Mother Mary.
Expanding Her Creative Reach
Beyond music, Charli has also ventured into acting. She starred in her own mockumentary The Moment and had a role in 100 Nights Of Hero. More recently, she appeared in the romantic drama Erupcja.
Her multifaceted career showcases her versatility as an artist, constantly pushing boundaries and exploring new creative avenues.
