Arsenal is reportedly open to selling at least four key players as they aim to rebuild their squad during the upcoming summer transfer window. The club’s decision-makers have shifted their focus to the transfer market following a season that saw both triumphs and heartbreaks.
Manager Mikel Arteta led Arsenal to their first Premier League title since 2004, finishing seven points ahead of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. However, their dreams of a historic double were dashed in the Champions League final against PSG, where they suffered a heartbreaking defeat on penalties.
Despite the painful loss in Budapest, the Arsenal squad found solace in a Premier League trophy parade held in north London on Sunday. With the 2024-25 season now behind them, the club is turning its attention to the summer transfer window, aiming to strengthen Arteta’s squad for the next campaign.
Key Positions to Target
At least four new signings are expected to arrive at the Emirates Stadium this summer. Arteta has identified several areas to improve, with a new striker, left-winger, central midfielder, and right-back among the priority positions.
The club is also considering moving some of its current players, with reports suggesting that Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Jesus, and Ben White could all be looking for exits.
Martinelli, who has been with Arsenal since his first-team debut in 2019, has made 278 appearances for the club. However, he was primarily a backup this season, starting just 11 Premier League games.
Trossard had a more consistent campaign but is still seen as a potential target for a new left-winger, with Bradley Barcola of PSG being linked as a possible option.
Ben White, an England international, only started to feature regularly this season after Jurrien Timber’s injury. He recently suffered a setback that ruled him out of the final weeks of the campaign and the World Cup.
Gabriel Jesus, on the other hand, has fallen down the pecking order due to persistent injuries. His playing time is expected to decrease further if Arsenal bring in a new striker.

Potential Departures and New Targets
Piero Hincapie, who started the Champions League final, has emerged as a target for Barcelona. However, Arsenal is likely to reject any offers for the defender. The Gunners signed Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen last summer on an initial loan, with an option to make the deal permanent.
Discussing Arsenal’s transfer plans after winning the Premier League, Josh Kroenke said: ‘The business never stops. Right now there are already other teams trying to strengthen and come at us for next season. We need to be aware of that. We’ve already had a few different conversations about different areas where we think we can improve on and off the pitch. I am looking forward to getting that going this summer, but it’s going to be an interesting one because of the World Cup. Fortunately, everyone is coming to the United States, so I don’t have to travel.’
Summer Transfer Targets
Arsenal’s interest in the summer transfer window includes Julian Alvarez, Morgan Rogers, and Eli Junior Kroupi. The club is keen to add quality players who can contribute immediately to Arteta’s vision.

Player Movements and Team Dynamics
With several key players potentially leaving, the club is also looking to reinforce its squad with fresh talent. This could lead to a more competitive team in the upcoming season, especially with the World Cup affecting the availability of some players.
As the summer transfer window approaches, Arsenal will be closely monitoring the market and making strategic decisions to ensure the team remains strong for the 2025-26 season. The club’s focus is not only on strengthening the squad but also on maintaining a balanced approach between on-field performance and off-field development.
With the right signings and careful planning, Arsenal aims to build on their recent success and challenge for major titles in the coming years.
