Taylor Swift has made a name for herself in New York City, with multiple performances at Madison Square Garden. Now, the pop star might be taking her relationship to the next level by tying the knot there.
According to reports, Swift is expected to say “I do” to NFL player Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden on the weekend of July 3, just before Independence Day. While neither party has confirmed the details, anonymous sources have shared that the wedding will take place at the iconic venue and that all involved are keeping the information under wraps.

Madison Square Garden, home to the NHL’s New York Rangers and the NBA’s New York Knicks, currently has no events scheduled between June 29 and July 6. This makes it available for an A-list event like a high-profile wedding. TMZ suggests that the venue would be ideal due to its enclosed arena bowl, which offers privacy, along with ample underground parking and secure infrastructure.

While many fans may not have expected a sports arena as a wedding venue, Swift has always been known for her grand gestures. The venue has played a significant role in her career, with eight performances at MSG, including her Fearless and Speak Now tours. She also owns property in Manhattan, including homes in Tribeca. In 2016, she rented a house on Cornelia Street, which inspired her song of the same name in 2019. Her 2014 track Welcome to New York remains one of the most famous tributes to the city and was used to promote tourism.

The wedding is expected to draw numerous celebrities, with fans eagerly anticipating the guest list since Kelce proposed in August. Reportedly, the list includes the Haim sisters, Zoë Kravitz, Ed Sheeran, Karlie Kloss, Suki Waterhouse, Gigi Hadid, and Selena Gomez. Swift and Kelce have been dating since 2023, supporting each other’s careers. Swift attended Kelce’s games, while he joined her on stage during her Eras Tour, including a London show in 2024.
Speculation about the wedding has been ongoing for months, with fans trying to decode potential “Easter eggs” in her work. One such clue came in the form of a photo announcing the release of her new single I Knew It, I Knew You, set for the Toy Story 5 soundtrack. The image, featuring Swift lying on grass surrounded by tulips, was said to contain hints about the wedding date. Some fans noticed 13 red tulips and six yellow ones, interpreting this as a reference to a June 13 wedding. Additionally, one of the tulip leaves was tied in a knot, seen as a nod to a traditional wedding tie style.
The song, released on June 5, marks Swift’s return to the country genre, blending harmonicas and banjos to match the yodeling cowgirl energy of Jessie from Toy Story 5. Within two days, the track broke records, becoming Spotify’s most-streamed country song in a single day by a female artist and Apple Music’s biggest country single of 2026 so far.
If eligible, the song could earn Swift an Academy Award nomination for best original song in the 2027 category. This would depend on whether the track plays during the film or only in the credits, as the latter would make it ineligible. If nominated, it could bring her closer to achieving EGOT status, having already won 14 Grammys and an Emmy. She now needs an Oscar and a Tony to complete the prestigious title.
